      FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bandung Institute of Tourism is Educational Institute GAP School

Bandung Institute of Tourism in West Java, Indonesia, has signed an agreement with the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI) to be a Global Academic Partner (GAP) school, offering EI’s courses and certifications to hospitality students and professionals in Indonesia.

Bandung Institute of Tourism was founded in 1962 and is the premier hospitality and tourism educational institution in Indonesia. It was awarded the prestigious TedQual Certification from UN-WTO Themis Foundation in 2010. The school offers 14 study programs in hospitality, travel, and tourism management and has more than 2,500 students. The school has more than 17,000 alumni working in hospitality around the world.

“Within our future strategy, we would be very pleased to adopt EI professional certifications,” said Noviendi Makalam, M.A., director. “By doing that, we are certain our institution can contribute more in the growth of human resource development in hospitality and tourism of Indonesia and the ASEAN region.” The school offers EI’s 12-course Hospitality Management Diploma curriculum to its students.

The school has also offered two Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE®) workshops for its instructors, including senior lecturer, Upiek Haeryah Sadkar, CHE, who said, “I am so grateful to get my CHE® certification, not only because it is a recognition of my dedication in hospitality education, but also as a fulfillment of my moral responsibility to our beloved campus. I believe it will give a great improvement to our teaching quality.” The school will be offering another CHE® workshop in June.
