      EI’s Monique Donahue Receives 2013 Spirit of CHART Award

      Orlando, Florida, July 2013—Monique Donahue, CHT, CMHS, vice president of research and development for the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI), was recently honored with the Spirit of CHART Award presented by the Council of Hotel And Restaurant Trainers (CHART) during its summer conference in Miami, Florida.
      The award is presented to CHART members who have assisted in moving the organization forward through contributions that have been above and beyond expectations. The Spirit of CHART Award represents the essence of a CHART member's commitment to excellence, quality and service.

      Donahue, who has been with EI since 1997, joined CHART in 2003. She has been a conference volunteer and mentor, as well as a presenter at 12 of the 16 conferences she has attended. She is a contributing writer to CHART’s blog and is a current member of CHART’s social engagement committee. In her local area, she is currently co-director of CHART’s Orlando Regional Training Forum.

      At the Educational Institute, Donahue oversees a team of instructional designers and production staff, developing training and certification programs for a variety of delivery media, including print, video, CD-ROM, and online. She manages projects from concept to completion, serves as a point-of-contact for clients and subject matter experts throughout the training development cycle, provides implementation assistance for EI programs, conducts industry-related research, and coordinates activities for EI’s Training and Education Advisory Council.

      In addition to her involvement with CHART, Donahue is a member of the eLearning Guild, the American Society for Training and Development, and the University of Central Florida Instructional Systems Advisory Council.
