      Educational Institute Honors Pedro Mandoki with Arthur Landstreet Award

      City, Oklahoma, June 11, 2008 - Pedro Mandoki, CHA, chairman and CEO of Mandoki Hospitality Group, is the 2008 recipient of the Arthur Landstreet Award, presented by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. Mandoki received the award during the AH&LA Summer Summit in Oklahoma City, during the AH&LA Stars of the Industry Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, June 11.

      Named after the Tennessee hotelier who founded the Educational Institute, the Arthur Landstreet award is presented to an individual who has made a lasting impact on the quality of education and training in the hospitality industry.
      Mandoki, the 2005 AH&LA chairman, is the sole owner and president of N.P. Hotel Group, Inc., a hotel/resort management and consulting company that operates primarily in Florida, and also of N.P. Development LLC, as well as various other companies under the umbrella of Mandoki Hospitality Group. A 40-year veteran of the hotel and resort industry, Mandoki has served in management positions at properties in Missouri, Georgia, Louisiana, and Washington, D.C., but primarily in Florida and Alabama, where he operates the Gulf Shores Plantation Resort.
      In addition to his industry involvement, Mandoki has also worked to prepare future leaders for the hospitality field. For many years, he taught hospitality management and marketing courses at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida. He served as the chairman of the college's Hospitality Program Advisory Committee and was the 1986 president of the college's foundation. He has also been a guest lecturer at Florida State University, Auburn University, the University of Alabama, the University of Denver, and the University of Delaware. He is currently an adjunct instructor at Faulkner State Community College's hospitality program, where he also serves on their advisory board.
      Mandoki is the co-author (with Jack Rush and Robert Gentry) of Resort Condominium and Vacation Ownership Management: A Hospitality Perspective, a textbook published by the Educational Institute. He is past chairman of the Florida Governor's Tourism Advisory Council and past president of both the Florida and Alabama Hotel & Motel Associations, and is a member of the Alabama Tourism Hall of Fame.
